Denny Gutierrez was known for his faceted melon bowls.  However, he also created exceptional painted vessels. This jar has a wide shoulder and a nearly flat top.  It is painted with 34 feathers around the top of the jar.  Note how tightly they are painted! Above the feathers towards the neck are painted cloud and rain designs.  The jar has a highly stone polished surface.  The jar is from 1987.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Denny Gutierrez”.
