Faustina Gutierrez was the mother of Celestino Gutierrez and the grandmother of potters Effie Garcia, Sally Tafoya, Ethel Yazza and Eugene Gutierrez. She was creative in her distinctive style of pottery designs.  This plate is painted with a thunderbird as the design.  The bird is complex in style.  It is polished on the back and signed, “Faustina”. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
