This is a charming small bowl by Mary Ann Hampton.  She was known for her painted and corrugated pottery. This piece is coil built and painted with bee-weed (black).  It is thin-walled and tightly painted. The design is a series of alternating mountain and star patterns. The bowl was traditionally fired, so there is some slight color variation from the fire.  The bowl is signed on the bottom, “Mary Ann Hampton”.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
