Hampton, Mary Ann – Corrugated Bowl (1970’s)
This is an exceptional corrugated bowl by Mary Ann Hampton. She was known for her painted and corrugated pottery. This is coil built and the exposed coils are corrugated and impressed with a small arrow design. The result is a striking appearance as it seems as if each row overlaps the one below. The neck is plain. The entire piece was traditionally fired, so there is some slight color variation from the fire. The bowl is signed on the bottom, “Mary Ann Hampton”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
