This is a very unusual bowl by Art Cody Haungooah.  He made a series of pieces in 1974 with different insects inset with turquoise.  The bowl has a spider on one side and a tick on the other.  They are intricately designed and each has an inset piece of turquoise.  The bowl is highly polished and fired red.  The matte area around the insects is textured after the firing.  The bowl is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Haungooah”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
