This is an unusual piece by Art Cody Haungooah.  It was fully polished and then etched away to create the design.  What is unusual is the background matte area.  The bowl is etched with a feather pattern around the top of the piece and a sunface on one side.  The matte area (where the clay was etched away), has been etched in vertical lines, creating a style of background back weave.  It is visually striking as it creates small shadows that add depth to the bowl.   It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Haungooah”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
