Haungooah, Art Cody – Jar with Feather, Avanyu and Bear Paw Designs (1981)

2"w x 3"h

$ 425.00

This is a long neck jar by  Art Cody Haungooah.  He was an extraordinary artist in clay in the late 1970s.  The jar is fully polished and fired red.  It is etched around the neck with a feather pattern and around the shoulder with a stylized avanyu (water serpent).  Near the base is a bear paw.  It is a complex design on an elegantly shaped jar.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Haungooah”, with a flute player, which indicates it is from 1981.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
