This seedpot by Art Cody Haungooah is from 1983.  The work from this period is distinctive in design and color. This piece sits upright with the design on the side.  It is etched with a Mimbres-style quail.  There are wind designs surrounding the quail and they are highlighted with white clay. The center of the quail is slipped a mauve-like coloration.  Art was fascinated by using various colors on his pottery. The eye of the quail is an inset piece of hei-shi bead.   The piece was fired a deep red coloration. It is signed, “Haungooah”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
