9.5"w x 9.25"h On Hold: $2500

$ 2,500.00

Harrison Jim learned to make pottery from his mother-in-law Joy “Frogwoman” Navasie. He often collaborated with Marianne Navasie on his pottery.  This is a large jar with designs carved in relief.  There is a large yellow Ahote Kastina in full figure form.  To the right is a Longhair Mana Katsina coming up the ladder from the kiva.  The levels of carving and precision are exceptional.  Check out the bricks of the kiva and the small feather on the top of the Ahote headdress!  At the end of the carved area are large shawls that are carved and slipped.  The opposite side of the jar has classic Hopi-Tewa bird and rain patterns.  It is complex imagery that is very tightly painted.  It is an amazing large jar and lots of variations in design as the piece is turned.  It is signed on the bottom, “Harrison Jim”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
