Val Kahe is a daughter of noted potter Gloria Kahe.  This seedpot is coil-built, stone polished, and painted with bee-weed (black) and red clay slips. the top has three hummingbird wings and tail designs extending from the rim to the shoulder.  The wings are highlighted with polished red clay.  Around the shoulder are cloud, rain, and flower designs.  It is a very tightly painted seedpot!  The piece has been traditionally fired to create fire clouds.  It is signed on the bottom, “Val Kahe”.
