Christine Atencio Kaye was the daughter of Cruz and Refugia Atencio. She was married to Edwin Kaye (Hopi) and the mother of Agnes Crispin, Phillip Atencio, and Lawrence Atencio.  She learned to make pottery from her mother and primarily made pieces in the 1960’s-the 70s.  This piece is made in the style of a bird. The head, neck, and base are fully polished.  The interior of the bird is incised with a cloud and sun design. It is signed on the bottom, “CK”.  The bowl is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
