$ 450.00

Charles Lewis is a grandson of Toni Roller and a son of Susan Roller.  He is a great-grandson of Margaret Tafoya.  While he no longer makes pottery, his pieces from the late 1990s were beautifully made, carved, and polished. This plate is deeply carved with a water serpent (avanyu) design.  It encircles the plate. The rim and back are also polished.  It was traditionally fired a deep black. It is signed on the back in the clay, “Charles Lewis” and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  The piece was made in 1992 when he was 20 years old.
