Lewis, Emma – Bowl with Eight Interlocking Birds (1970s)

6"w x 4.75"h

$ 425.00

Emma Lewis was a daughter of noted potter Lucy M. Lewis.  This is a large bowl that is fully painted.  The bowl has eight interlocking birds, which is actually four sets of two.  The birds are delicately painted and the beak of one connects to the wing of the one below.  This style of bird is very classic in Acoma pottery.  The bowl is signed on the bottom, “Emma Lewis”.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
