Lewis, Emma – Plate with Acoma Birds and Corrugated Rim (1970s)

Emma Lewis was a daughter of noted potter Lucy M. Lewis.  This is one of her few plates.  It is painted with two interlocking Acoma birds over a field, painted with orange-colored clay.  They are painted with bee-weed (black).  The rim of the plate is corrugated in a triangular pattern.  It is signed on the side of the rim, “E. Lewis”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
