This is an elegantly shaped water jar by Eric Lewis.  It has a high, round shoulder and an elongated neck.  The jar has a blue jar on one side. The bird is painted in a graphic and flowing style.  As the jar is turned, there are linear pine tree and plant designs, much as would be found as the habitat of the jay.  It is almost as if you are just glimpsing the blue jay in flight between the trees!  The imagery flows perfectly across the jar and emphasizes the form. The jar is signed on the bottom, “Eric Lewis”.
