This is a classic water jar by Eric Lewis.  It has a round shoulder and a short neck. The jar is fully painted with designs.  This jar has a complex designed parrot as the design.  The parrot body uses the negative space of the designs.  The remainder of the jar has swirling birds. The strong graphics on Eric’s pottery give them a modernist appearance. However, look closer and you can see a variety of traditional designs that he has used for the designs that are all based on traditional Acoma patterns. The jar is signed on the bottom, “Eric Lewis 2022”.
