This is a large seedpot by Eric Lewis.  It has a sharp shoulder and a rounded form.  The seedpot has corn on the top with square-painted kernels in the husk.  The corn, a symbol for prosperity, has a striking appearance on the piece.  It is surrounded by graphic bird and plant designs.  The strong graphics on Eric’s pottery give them a modernist appearance. However, look closer and you can see a variety of traditional designs that he has used for the designs that are all based on traditional Acoma patterns. The piece is signed on the bottom, “Eric Lewis 2021”.
