This is a classic bolw by Lucy Lewis.  She was one of the great Matriarch potters of the past century. This bowl is coil built and painted using bee-weed, a plant.  The design is one that combines many elements of Acoma pottery imagery. There are rain (fine lines) and lightning designs.  There are additional raincloud designs.  There is the red for the mesas and the rain falling on them.  The design is repeated across the surface of the jar.  The shape of the bowl is round with a high shoulder.  The jar is signed on the bottom, “Lucy M. Lewis”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  Definitely a classic!
