$ 175.00

Lorna Lomakema is a daughter of noted potter Sadie Adams.  She began making pottery in the 1970s’ but no longer make any work in clay.  This jar is made from the red Hopi clay.  It is painted with a stylized bird on both sides.  Even the interior of the jar is fully polished!  The piece was traditionally fired. The jar is signed on the bottom, “Lorna L.”.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  This jar was originally purchased from Richard Howard in 1977.  There is certainly a wonderful similarity in her work and that of her mother!
