Lonewolf, Greg – “King Fisher” Seedpot

1.5"w x 1.75"h

$ 650.00

Greg Lonewolf is the son of Joseph Lonewolf and is known for his intricately incised miniatures.  This is one of his larger seedpots.  It is designed on one side with a kingfisher and a traditional feather pattern.  On the top is a flower design.  The opposite side of the realistic bird is a Mimbres style scene.  There is a Mimbres bird diving into the water and three small Mimbres fish below the surface.  Joseph Lonewolf created his own iconography inspired by the Mimbres pottery of the 1100s and Greg continued to use the imagery on his many of his pieces.  The piece is highlighted with natural clay slips.  It is signed on the bottom.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
