Lonewolf, Greg (b. 1952)
Greg Lonewolf is the son of Joseph Lonewolf and is known for his intricately incised miniatures. This seedpot is one of his more detailed pieces. There is a realistic rainbow trout on one side. He etched the water splashing behind the fish. The realism and coloration of the water is exceptional. Take a closer look and note there are even little bugs etched above the fish and underwater pants and a piece of wood! There is a lot of detail for the size and lots of coloration! The piece is highly polished red and the designs were etched into the clay. All the colors are from natural clay slips. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Greg Lonewolf”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
