Beginning in the early 1970s, Joseph Lonewolf revolutionized the world of Santa Clara pottery by incorporating his sgraffito (lightly etching the surface of the clay) and incised (more deeply cut into the clay) designs. In 1975, in conjunction with the publication of his book, “The Pottery Jewels of Joseph Lonewolf”, Joseph created three versions of the “Lone Wolf’ sculpture. One series was bronze, one series was silver the third was 14K Gold. The edition size of each group was different. This is one of the bronze castings. It is 27 in the edition of 150. It is cast from bronze and the base is wood. It is in excellent condition. The piece also comes with the signed and numbered limited edition book identifying that it is #27 and made from bronze. This piece was originally purchased from Theresa Lonewolf. This is the only bronze one we have had accompanied by the book!
