Lonewolf, Rosemary “Apple Blossom” – Seedpot with Six Butterflies (1977)

2.25"w x 2.5"h

$ 675.00

This is a complex seedpot by Rosemary Lonewolf.  She learned to make pottery from her father, Joseph Lonewolf.  This piece has six realistic butterflies etched into the clay around the side of the piece.  Below them are mountains and above them are clouds.  Note how each butterfly is different in design.  The hop is fully polished red and etched with a prayer feather design.  All the designs were etched into the clay before it was fired. The surface is highly polished and fired a deep red coloration.  The seedpot is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Apple Blossom”.  While Rosemary no longer makes many traditional style pieces of pottery, her miniatures remain a classic!
