6.25"w x 4.75"h

$ 1,100.00

This jar by Steve Lucas is from the 1990s. It has a round body, and a turned out neck. The design is painted on just half of the jar. It is a very intricate bird and bird wing pattern. The bird is highlighted with polished red and tan clays. There is also an additional white clay. Note how in one of the areas the design is etched into the clay and then slipped with white clay. The design is overall very intricate with lots of thin lines. The jar was traditionally fired and has slight color variations from the firing. It is signed on the bottom with his name and an ear of corn (Corn Clan) and a Mudhead Katsina (Koyemsi). It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
