Garrett Maho is known for his traditional and innovative Hopi-Tewa pottery.  This bowl has a narrow base and wide shoulder.  The top is painted with two large quail as the design.  Their wings are a triangular geometric and the bodies are highlighted with red and mauve clay slips. The black is bee-weed.  The bowl was traditionally fired and there and there are blushes on the surface.  The piece is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Garrett Maho”.  Garrett has won numerous awards including the “Helen Naha” Award at Santa Fe Indian Market.
