Garrett Maho is known for his traditional and innovative Hopi-Tewa pottery.  This tile is fully polished and has a kiva step edge.  In the center is a turtle.  It is painted with bee-weed and a red clay slip.  The edge is also painted red.  It is traditionally fired.  There are subtle blushes on the surface of the tile.  It is signed on the back in the clay, “Garrett Maho”.
