Marcellus Medina is known for his contemporary painted pottery.  The jar is made by his wife, Elizabeth Medina.  Marcellus has painted on the surface with acrylic. The jar has a very realistic Zia Deer Dancer on one side. There are five highly detailed deer painted encircling the jar.  Around the neck of the jar are cloud patterns.  The contrast of the colorful designs on the white background is striking.  The jar is signed on the bottom, “M. Medina E. Medina”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
