Jennifer Moquino is known for her clay vessels and also her amazing animal figures! This is a Parakeet.  Jennifer said that is difficult to blend the two different clay colors on the head of the bird.  However, the end result is a nice mixture of the red and green clay and the entire surface is fully polished.  The winds are etched with small and large feather patterns.  The back has an intricate feather design and the beak is a micaceous clay.  All the various colors are derived from natural clay slips.  Jennifer continues to be one of the leading innovative potters working today!
