Jaycee Nahohai is a son of noted potters Randy Nahohai and Rowena Him.  He is a grandson of noted Zuni potter Josephine Nahohai.  Jaycee is known for his figurative pottery, especially his owls.  This large owl is made from Zuni clay and paitned with clay slips and mica.  The various colors of clay and the use of the contrasting white slip and mica give the piece a dramatic appearance.  It is signed on the bottom, “J. Nahohai”.  Definitely a strong piece by a talented young Zuni potter!
