Jaycee Nahohai is a son of noted potters Randy Nahohai and Rowena Him.  He is a grandson of noted Zuni potter Josephine Nahohai.  Jaycee is known for his figurative pottery, especially his owls.  This piece was made by his mother, Rowena Him.  Jaycee painted the design on the body to represent the feathers.  The use of the mica to slip the piece gives it a bit of “sparkle” to contrast with the painted designs.  It is signed on the bottom, “J. Nahohai, R. Him”.
