Namingha, Les – “Bird Wing Pathways” Seed Jar
6.5"w x 4.75"h
This is a complex painted jar by Les Namingha. While it is part of his “Layers” series, he has created a group of pieces that focus on “pathways” in addition to the layers. Les says the style of painting in this series is inspired by Bauhaus. The jar has brown painted “bird wings” extending up from the base. The birds, flying through the clouds and sky with the geometric forms of the landscape below. The lines are the paths of the birds through the sky and on land. The colors are dynamic and each turn of the jar creates a new “scene” and sense of motion. There is simple modernity to the overall composition and design. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Les Namingha 2020”.
