It’s never a surprise that Les Namingha continues to evolve and change his dynamic art.  This is his second piece which in which he has carved the design. The jar is fully carved with a feather pattern at the rim.  Around the neck are cloud and bird wing patterns while around the shoulder are thin lined cloud patterns.  The carving is so clean, precise and deep, it is amazing!  The base has carved and painted with elipses.  The colors are a contrast of tan an dark brown, which creates an added visual depth to the piece!  Les Namingha remains one of those potters who continues to defy expectations in his innovative clay art.  He pulls from his artistic background as well as his Zuni and Hopi heritage.  The jar is signed on the bottom.
