This is a simple jar by Les Namingha.  It is a micaceous textured surface with two Hopi style birds painted on the top half of the piece.  Each bird is painted in black and has a white outline.  The style of painting harkens back to early Nampeyo pottery and the use of the white outlines.  The textured surface and the reflections are almost like stars in the sky!  Yes, simple, but striking!  It is signed on the bottom.
