$ 5,200.00

Les Namingha has, over the years, creatively changed his pottery with new painting and technical styles. This large is one of his few carved pieces.  The jar has a high shoulder and a short neck.  The piece has a double shoulder and a short neck. The top of the jar has Hopi Sikyatki style birds in flight.  Below are land, water, and sky designs for the migration of the birds.  The bottom is a checkerboard pattern that is the winter snows they are migrating away from in winter.  Les Namingha remains one of those potters who continues to defy expectations in his innovative clay art.  He pulls from his artistic background as well as his Zuni and Hopi heritage.  The jar is signed on the bottom, “Les Namingha”.
