Namingha, Les – “Three Hopi Birds” Jar (2012)

7.25"w x 6.5"h

$ 1,800.00

This is a detailed jar by Les Namingha from 2012.  The jar has a round shape and a short neck.  There are three interlocking Hopi birds.  They are painted with acrylic on the surface of the jar.  There are additional polished clay colors. It is an interesting period of his work as he transitioned from native clay slips to acrylic and more modernist styles.  The jar was traditionally fired to create the blushes on the surface.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Les Namingha  2012”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
