Namingha, Les – “Weaving Windows” Contemporary Jar

7"w x 6.25"h

$ 2,800.00

This is a new jar by Les Namingha.  It has a round body and it is fully designed.  He said of this new style of work: “I wanted to create a minimalist composition consisting of multi-layer grid patterns creating a woven-like texture”.  Around the sides, Les has painted his grid “weaving” pattern onto the clay.  It is then painted over with white triangles as if one is looking through a window.  Separating each section are small triangular designs, where again, you can see the weave pattern in the white areas.  The top is colorful with a series of Sikyatki inspired birds encircling the bowl.  They are in a minimalist manner, as Les often uses on his pottery.  The bottom has a spiraling “migration” loop.  It is signed on the bottom, “Les Namingha”.
