Lawrence Namoki has been known for a variety of styles in his pottery.  This is an earlier piece of his pottery from the 1980’s.  It is a seedpot with carved katsina figures as the design. The katsinas are a Sunface, Longhair and Hano Mana.  Surrounding the Sunface is a very intricately etched and painted sash design.  Note the various layers of carving to create shadows and depth to the seedpot. The area at the bottom of the seedpot is slipped so that it looks like wood.  The seedpot is signed and titled on the bottom.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
