Nampeyo, Ellsworth Polacca – Small Bowl with Broadface Katsina

Ellsworth Polacca Nampeyo was a son of noted potter Fannie Nampeyo and a grandson of Nampeyo of Hano. He was a brother of Elva Nampeyo, Leah Nampeyo, Tonita Nampeyo, Harold Polacca, Thomas Polacca, and Iris Nampeyo. He began making pottery in the late 1970s and continued through the 1980s. This small bowl is fully polished red.  It is deeply carved with a Broadface Katsina as the design.  Note the beveled angle of the carving on the Katsina.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Ellsworth Polacca Nampeyo”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  He as not very prolific so we do not see a lot of his pieces of pottery come back to the gallery.  Shipping is included.
