Nampeyo, Rayvin – Jar with Bat Wing Design
Rayvin Nampeyo (b. 1961) is a son of Leah Garcia Nampeyo, a grandson of Fannie Nampeyo and a great-grandson of Nampeyo of Hano. He is a brother of James Nampeyo. This jar is from the 1990s. It has a round shoulder and a short neck. The jar is painted with the classic batwing design. It extends down across the shoulder and is painted with thin lines. The red areas are polished clay. The jar has very light fire-clouds and it is signed on the bottom, “Rayvin Nampeyo”. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
