Youngblood, Nancy – Miniature Jar with Long Neck (1978)

1.25"w x 2"h

$ 975.00

While Nancy Youngblood is known for her swirl melon bowls and carved pottery, she started out her career creating miniatures. This piece is one of her unique miniatures from 1978.  It is perfectly formed and very highly polished.  This jar is in a classic shape of work like that of her grandmother, Margaret Tafoya.  The jar has a sharp shoulder and a slight dip before going up to a long neck.  The shape and polish make for a perfect miniature.  It is an amazingly elegant form for something so small!   It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Nancy Yellow Aspen Youngblood, 1978”.
