Naranjo, Celestina – Bowl with Plant Designs (1970s)
Celestina Tafoya Naranjo was a daughter of Pasqualita Tafoya and a niece of Sarafina Tafoya. She began making pottery in the 1930s and continued through the 1980s. This bowl is deeply carved and highly polished. It was originally purchased directly from her in the 1970s. The bowl has plant and rain designs on both sides. It is very deeply carved and highly polished. The bowl is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair. It is signed on the bottom, “Celestina Naranjo”. It includes one of her business cards!
