Elijah Naranjo learned to make pottery from his mother Dolly Naranjo and sister Jody Naranjo.  He works in a similar style with the sgraffito designs and brown firing. This jar is from 2007 and has an oval opening.  The area above the shoulder is polished and the area below is micaceous. The jar has six elk etched into the clay. They are made up of two elk families.  Each is stone polished and then etched with designs in the center. The jar was fired a brown coloration.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Elija Naranjo Smith”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
