Elizabeth Naranjo was known for her large carved intricately carved vessels.  This large jar is a striking shape with a very round body and an elongated neck. The neck has a feather pattern while the body of the piece is carved with an avanyu.  Elizabeth is a daughter of noted potter Pablita Chavarria and the sister of Clara Shije, Reycita Naranjo and Mary Singer.  This large jar is beautifully polished and typical of her work.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.   It is signed on the bottom in the clay.bottom in the clay.
