Naranjo, Flora & Glenda – Polychrome Jar with Triangle Shaped Neck (1980s)

4.25"w x 4.5"h

$ 150.00

Flora Naranjo began making pottery in the 1930s and was amazingly creative in form and designs.  In the 1980s she made pieces in collaboration with her daughter Glenda Naranjo (b. 1953).  This is an unusual polychrome jar.  The jar has a round shape and a triangular neck.  The neck is painted with lighting and rain designs.  There are clouds painted extending over the shoulder.  The piece has four different colors of clay used to create the designs.  They are all painted onto the piece before it is fired.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  It is signed, “Flora & Glenda Naranjo” on the bottom in the clay.
