Naranjo, Flora – Red Bowl with Carved Petals (1950s)

5.5"w x 4.5"h

$ 200.00

Flora Naranjo began making pottery in the 1930s and was amazingly creative in form and design.  It is not often that we see her pottery alone as in the 1980s she began to collaborate with her daughter Glenda Naranjo (b. 1953).  This bowl is coil built and carved with eleven elliptical flower petals.  The remainder of the bowl is fully polished and fired red.  The piece is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  It is signed, “Flora Naranjo” on the bottom.
