Forrest Naranjo’s pottery is coil built, stone polished and traditionally fired brown and then etched with designs.  This jar has an asymettric rim and it is polished around the neck of the piece.  Around the top of the shoulder are insects and sea life. There are dragonflies. beetles, a grasshopper, fish, seahorse, nautilus and, a butterfly.  Below the etched designs is a stylized avanyu encircling the jar.  It is tan in coloration.  The style of his etching is modern yet pulls from traditional Pueblo designs. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  It is signed on the bottom, “Forest Naranjo”.
