Naranjo, Forrest & Karen – Water Jar with Hemis Katsinas and Flute Player (1980s)

5.5"w x 6"h

$ 500.00

Forrest Naranjo is a son of Bernie Naranjo, the brother of Dusty Naranjo, and father of Johnathan Naranjo.  This jar was made by both Forrest and his wife Karen.  The jar is coil-built, thin-walled, and highly polished. It was fired a dark brown coloration.  The jar has two Hemis Mana Katsinas as the design.  The third medallion has a Flute Player.  The low shoulder, asymmetric rim, and large etched designs on a highly polished surface are striking.  The jar is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Forrest Karen Naranjo”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
