This is a very intricate larger seed jar by Geri Naranjo.  The piece is coil built and has a wide shoulder and sloping sides.  The entire surface is fully polished and it was fired red.  The piece has etched feathers around the shoulder. Above the feathers is an avanyu. Near the opening is a lightning pattern.  It is a complex and fully designed piece with precision detail.  Geri makes very few red pieces but the detail and coloration stands out.  The piece was traditionally fired.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Geri Naranjo”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
