This jar by Jody Naranjo is from the 1990s and it is an early piece of her pottery.  It is highly polished around the neck and matte from the shoulder to the base.  The jar is etched around the shoulder with two lizards.  They are separated by geometric designs.  The jar was fired to have the variations in color from red to brown, which have become a signature of her pottery.  The jar is signed, Jody Naranjo Smith” and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
