This is a stunning seed jar by Johnathan Naranjo!  It is coil built and fully polished and has four flat sides.  Each is etched with a different scene with a wolf.  The wolves are etched into the clay and have amazing realism and detail.  Note as well the various levels of etching to create the designs.  The jar was fired a brown coloration.  The various shades of red and tan are achieved by lightly scraping away layers of polished surface!  This is a very difficult technique but visually is striking.  Johnathan has won numerous awards for his pottery.  The piece is signed on the bottom in the clay.
